Today, September 26, President Trump nominated Judget Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court of the United States, replacing Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Coney Barrett currently serves as a justice on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
“Filling a vacancy on the Supreme Court is one of the most important duties for a sitting president,” says Lois Anderson, ORTL executive director. “President Trump has made an excellent choice in Judge Amy Coney Barrett. She is an unquestionably well-qualified nominee for our highest court.”
“Instead of respecting her accomplishments, the mainstream media and special interests are attacking Judge Barrett’s personal beliefs, including her faith,” continued Anderson. “Today, I call on Oregonians to reject this kind of bigotry and support confirmation.”
