Investing In Our Future

Each year, Oregon Right to Life Education Foundation offers programs to help young people take ownership of their pro-life values.

One such initiative is our student contest program.

Students from every corner of Oregon submit artwork, essays, speeches and videos that clearly illustrate the worth and value of preborn lives. In 2025, those entries will focus on the theme “Love Both Heartbeats.”

The contests have something for everyone — artists in K–12th Grade can enter the drawing contest, and juniors and seniors in high school are encouraged to enter the oratory competition.

Interested in short film production? There’s a contest for that, too!

This year, we are excited to offer a brand-new contest: Short-Form Video. Social media has become a key space where people talk about life issues. Short-form videos that communicate the truth about the innate dignity and value of human life have become a meaningful way to educate people about the pro-life perspective. This new contest gives students (and adults!) an opportunity to build their social media video skills and share their passion for protecting innocent lives.

These competitions are fun and engaging, but most importantly, they offer an opportunity for students to take creative ownership of their values. We learn through doing and creating; through this process, pro-life values are clarified and more deeply instilled in participants.

We invest in these programs because we are investing in our future — giving the next generation of pro-life leaders the skills, tools and confidence to be voices for life.
