Students are matched with local contest coordinators, thoughtfully create submissions and compete at the city or county level. Local winners participate at the state competition held at the annual Together We Advocate conference on March 4. State-winning drawing and essay entries are displayed, short film winners will be viewed and oratory contestants will compete for the state prize.
The oratory state contest winner will give their winning speech during the conference. Additionally, he or she will receive an expenses-paid trip to the 2023 National Right to Life Convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where they will compete with students from across the country.
“Something that I’m looking forward to with this year’s contest is to see the creativity of students and learn from their point of view why life is precious and should be protected,” says Jalaya Taylor, ORTL community outreach specialist.
