Congratulations to Eden Nava of Woodburn, who placed second in the 2021 National Right to Life Oratory Contest. Eden’s speech, “Abort the Deceptions, Planned Parenthood — Not Babies,” was a compelling oration that made for stiff competition at both the state and national levels. Citing statistics from Planned Parenthood’s annual report, Eden concluded her speech with the following statement: “All these deceptions, from their deceptive name to the false ‘health care’ and to the selling of baby parts, are lies. When is Planned Parenthood going to stop the deceptions and finally show the hard truth?”

Every year, Oregon Right to Life Education Foundation hosts an oratory contest for high school juniors and seniors. First-place local winners advance to the state contest, which is held in conjunction with our annual Together We Advocate conference in Tualatin. The winner of the state contest receives a trip to compete at the national contest while attending the National Right to Life convention. It is an exciting opportunity and benefits all Oregonian pro-lifers through the enthusiasm and leadership of our state’s pro-life students.
