After months of preparation and planning, Lois Anderson officially took on the role of Oregon Right to Life executive director on September 1, after leading ORTL’s Political Action Committee for years. Because of this transition, our political team has been undergoing some exciting changes. We’re thrilled to have just hired Jessica Stanton, our new PAC and communications assistant.
Jessica graduated this May with her Juris Doctorate degree from Liberty University School of Law (LUSOL). While attending LUSOL, she was the president of Law Students for Life. She facilitated student representation at the 2017 March for Life, an on-campus presentation by President Serrin Foster of Feminists for Life, as well as a coin drive for the Liberty Godparent Home. Jessica also served as treasurer of the first Black Law Student Association (BLSA) club at LUSOL. Jessica has been published in the 2017 spring issue of The American Feminist, authoring an article on Michigan’s coerced abortion law, which provides legal recourse for women who are coerced into having abortions. Jessica is currently working on a master’s degree in public administration.
Before attending Liberty, Jessica received her bachelor’s degree in journalism at George Fox University in 2014. During that time, Jessica interned for ORTL PAC. Her main project was helping to set up The Oregon Optimist, an ORTL-run online news website that is still being used today.
Along with helping the PAC and communications projects, Jessica will be part of our lobbying team. She’ll be on the front lines of our efforts in the state capitol during the next session. If you’d like to contact Jessica, she can be reached at Jessica@ortl.org
Welcome aboard, Jessica! Love your bio!
