“There is good news for this year’s Roe v. Wade commemorative rally,” announced Oregon Right to Life director, Gayle Atteberry,   “Abortions in Oregon continue at a 30 year low.   The bad news, however” she continued, “is that in 2006 more than 11,000 unborn babies were killed through abortion.”

Oregon Right to Life will host its annual Roe v. Wade Memorial Rally on Sunday, January 21, 2006 at the Capitol Mall in Salem. The rally will be held in memory of the more that 46,000,000 American babies who have lost their lives through abortion, as well as more than 400,000 who have been killed in Oregon.

The rally’s theme, Reaching Oregonians with the message of Life, will feature the successful ways in which pro-lifers are impacting Oregon’s culture for Life. The rally  begins at 2:30, and will include Archbishop John Vlazny,  Pastor Gregg Lamm of Newberg, and Rep. Kevin Cameron (R-South Salem) as guest speakers.

Pro-lifers will gather again in Salem on January 22nd in two separate events.  “Survivors of abortion”, those under 34, will meet at the State Capitol on Monday to attend events and to speak to the fact that one-third of their generation is missing due to abortion.

Monday evening a candlelight prayer vigil will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. in front of the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic at the corner of Coral and Wolverine Sts. in Salem.

Oregon Right to Life chapters in Coos, Curry, Douglas, Lane, Harney, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, and Malheur counties will also host events.  Please call Oregon Right to Life for further details.
