Life Team Coordinators PDF Print E-mail

Recently, many people have been contacting our office to tell us they feel compelled to get more involved in pro-life work, due to the outcome of last November’s election.  In this vein, Oregon Right to Life has launched a program for people who have that nagging feeling that they need to do more, but don’t feel they can make a huge time commitment to the pro-life movement.  If you are a person who is willing to help with simple pro-life projects in your community, I ask you to consider becoming a Life Team Coordinator.  We will equip you with ideas and answer your questions.  We’ll provide you with resources and put you in touch with other people in your area who want to become more active.  So, whether you have a project in mind, or you simply want to get involved but need some direction, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you get started.

Following are a few simple project ideas to think about.  It’s possible to do many of them in your own church:

1.      Ask permission to set up a table with pro-life information and visual aids in your church lobby once or twice a year to keep the issue at the forefront and to provide educational resources.

2.      Learn the latest news and information on pro-life issues by bringing a carload of friends to our one-day conference on April 4.  Listen to fabulous speakers and get new ideas for ways to bring the pro-life message to your community.

3.      Ask permission to distribute Camp Joshua brochures to your church’s youth group members.

4.      Host one of our ORTLEF speakers to give a presentation to your prayer or Bible study group.

5.      Find out what kind of pregnancy/newborn/post-abortive support is available in your area.  Publicize this information in your church bulletin on a regular basis.

6.      Order pro-life literature to give to your friends, mail with your bills, or distribute at meetings.

7.      Sponsor a pro-life ad in your local newspaper.

8.      Publicize ORTLEF’s pro-life children’s contests.

I hope this has helped you by giving you some food for thought.  And, again, if you’d like to become more active, please give us a call at 503-463-8563..
