Canvasser
Part-Time

About the job:
Oregon Right to Life’s canvassers work at the lead and strategy of our political advocacy team to increase connection with voters in targeted races in Oregon.
The voter outreach specialists help materialize our voter contact program. They work together, speaking directly with voters door-to-door.
Additional responsibilities:
- Work with the political assistant, contacting voters to achieve statewide voter contacts goals
- Set individual goals for voter contact and self-motivate to meet them
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with voters and team members
- Must have access to a smartphone
Desired qualifications:
- Available to work in Marion & Polk counties
- Dedication to pro-life values
- Experience working or volunteering on a campaign
- Familiarity with the G Suite, Zoom, and other common digital tools
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work both independently and on a team
- Ability to adapt quickly to accomplish changing goals
- Ability to master new skills quickly
Compensation and Benefits:
$21.00/hour, minimum 15 hours per week, maximum 30 hours per week.

North Coast Canvasser
HD 32 (Clatsop, Columbia & Tillamook Counties)
Seasonal. July 8 – November 3, 2026
About the Role:
Oregon Right to Life’s Canvassers are on the front lines of our political advocacy efforts, connecting directly with voters door-to-door in targeted legislative and local races. As a Canvasser, you’ll be a key part of our voter contact program, working alongside a motivated team to make a real impact across Oregon’s North Coast.
Responsibilities:
● Contact voters door-to-door to meet statewide voter contact goals in coordination with
the political team
● Set and pursue individual voter contact goals with self-motivation and accountability
● Represent ORTL with a positive, professional demeanor in every voter and team
interaction
● Use a personal smartphone as part of daily canvassing operations
Qualifications
● Commitment to pro-life values
● Experience on a political campaign or in volunteer organizing (preferred)
● Comfort with G Suite, Zoom, and common digital tools
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills
● Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently and as part of a team
● Adaptable, quick-learning, and goal-oriented
Compensation & Benefits
Within Commuter Distance:
✓Base Pay $21.00/hour
✓ Door-to-Door and Top
Performer Bonuses once base threshold met
Outside Commuter Distance:
✓$18.00/hour

Reports to: Political Director, Executive Director
Job Description:
Direct and advance Oregon Right to Life’s political efforts by identifying, equipping, and electing pro-life candidates who can enact policies that protect human life from fertilization to natural death. This role allows you to apply political strategy and advocacy experience, lead high-impact programs, build statewide relationships, and expand influence in shaping pro-life policy year-round, with the opportunity to grow into senior leadership within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and execution of designated political programs and initiatives in alignment with overall team strategy
- Strengthen programs for candidate recruitment and development
- Bolster effectiveness in local elections
- Build upon existing grassroots operation
- Build and maintain relationships with candidates, elected officials, coalition partners, and key stakeholders
- Monitor and analyze political landscapes at the state and local level to inform strategy
- Collaborate on communications and messaging related to political programs and priorities
- Represent the organization alongside Political Director in coalition efforts, lobbying activities, and public-facing opportunities as delegated
- Participate in ORTL PAC Board processes and assist with organizational events and initiatives
- Other duties as assigned or as fits within skillset
Desired Competencies and Experience
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of ORTL, including a commitment to compassionate, non-sectarian dialogue
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, communications, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of applicable experience in political or advocacy fields
- Proven ability to develop and manage new and existing programs
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- High level of professionalism and integrity in handling sensitive information and relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in office and campaign software (e.g. Google Suite, Salesforce, i360) ● Willingness to travel (10%+) and work occasional evenings and weekends

- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions ● Must be able to listen and speak clearly on the telephone
